Lighthouse Pointe du Toulinguet is situated at the westernmost tip of the Crozon peninsula south of Brest. To guide ships into the bay of Brest, several attempts to build a lighthouse were made in the 1840s. In 1848 work started, and on Juli 1st, 1849, the light was lit for the first time.
The lighthouse is situated approximately 3 kilometres west of the Camaret-sur-Mer. Its design is a good example for typical french ligthouses of that time period. Sadly, access to the buidling and the whole cape is restricted to the public, since the french navy operates control facilities here. Long lenses are needed to get good photographs of the light.
